Brooke Cox

(they/she) is a director, scenic designer, and stage manager from the Bay Area, California. They hold a B.A. in Theatre and Creative Writing from Willamette University, as well as studied Directing at the National Theatre Institute through the Theatermakers Intensive program.

They are a multidisciplinary artist who enjoys combining their love of language, art, and physical space in order to challenge how we tell stories and reinvent forms of theatrical engagement. By stretching the capacity of our words and our artistic spaces, she hopes to bring a more accessible and deeper understanding of theatre as a tool to build community and start conversation.

She has worked with theaters such as the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, Shotgun Players, NCTC, and most recently, the Eugene O’Neill Center.

She is also a recipient of Willamette University’s Robert Hess Award and the first place winner of the 2022 Newell Short Story Award for Short Fiction.
